Trisha Krishnan born on 4th May 1983 as Trisha Krishnamurthy in Palakkad, India) is a Tamil-born actress in the Tamil and Telugu film industry. She rose to fame with her roles in Saamy and Ghilli.


Born to Krishnan and Uma Krishnan in Kerala, the Tamil Iyer actress got her early education from Church Park School and pursued her higher education in Ethiraj College, Chennai. Later, she modelled and won Miss Salem in 1999, Miss Chennai in 1999 and Miss India Miss Beautiful Smile in 2001. In school, she participated in several cultural activities, sports and school band. Trisha is said to be a good ballet dancer. She studied in the same school as former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha.


Trisha first made her debut in films when she was offered a small cameo in the film Jodi. However, the first movie in which she signed up to enact the role of the leading lady was Priyadarshan's Leysa Leysa. A string of flops marked the beginning of her career, such as Manasellam,and Alai. However she was well suited for her role opposite Surya in Mounam Pesiyadhe and won critical acclaim.

She then played Vikram's lady love in the mega blockbuster Saamy. The next huge film she took part in followed immediately afterwards, was Ghilli with Vijay, which was a remake of Telugu blockbuster Okkadu.

In 2004, she starred in Varsham in Telugu which went on to become the biggest hit of the year and turned her into an overnight sensation. In 2005, she starred alongside Siddharth Narayan in the telugu flick Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana as the village girl Siri. The movie is about a rich boy, who tries to marry a girl - however her brother opposes. It is directed by Prabhu Deva, was successful at the box office . Trisha quoted that "'Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana' is the best entertainer that I have seen in my life" and she won 2 awards for the film which include the Filmfare Award and Nandi Award.

Another film she was called up for was Mani Ratnam's Aayitha Ezhuthu with Siddharth Narayan, Madhavan and Surya, which was the only time she dubbed herself for the film. Her later movies, Ji, Aathi and Aaru did not do well either - though Aaru was received well by critics and both dubbed in Tamil and Telugu and produced by Saran, who had previously directed several successful movies . Her recent Telugu movie, Pournami, directed by Prabhu Deva, was also a flop. However, Something Something ... Unnakum Ennakum, where Trisha acted opposite Jayam Ravi which released in 2006 did well at the box office. Something Something ... Unnakum Ennakum is a remake of the Telugu movie, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana where she plays the same role again.

Her Telugu film, Stalin with Chiranjeevi which released in 2006 created Indian record by collecting a share of RS. 130.8 million in 5 days. This got another entry for Stalin into the record books for the highest collected so far for any South Indian film in the first 5 days. This film grossed 5.3 crores on its opening day. In the U.S., it collected around 65,500 USD on the opening day. In the first seven days, the film grossed Rs. 17.6 crores worldwide, which was yet another record for South Indian film industry. The film grossed a total of Rs. 24.42 crores worldwide in 2 weeks which is another South-Indian record. The film grossed a total of Rs. 32 crores worldwide in 3 weeks.

Her latest Telugu film, Sainikudu with Mahesh Babu released on November 30, 2006. There was high expectations in the trade circles from this film especially after the smashing hit Pokiri but this high budget film started off with a below average talk. Despite receiving bad talk from the film trade, the film managed to get a fantastic opening in India and overseas. The movie is currently doing very well abroad.

Trisha also recently replaced Rani Mukherjee as the Brand Ambassador of Fanta India.

Malavika was born as Shweta Konnur in Bangalore, India on July 19, 1979. She has been a Fair & Lovely cream model girl in the North as well as a successful actress.Malavika shot to fame at the age of 19, with her debut in the Tamil movie Unnai Thedi with Ajith directed by Sundar.C, the film went on to be a major blockbuster and started her career, it was released in 1999. Another hit followed in the multi-starrer Anandha Poongatre co-starring with Ajith, Karthik and Meena, she let show of her acting skills in the film Rojavanam which established her as an actress and left her with three hits from three films.

But her fame was short lived from the film Pooporika Varukirom which in its cast, even included Sivaji Ganesan but was still a flop. Her films from 2001 to 2003 were all duds at the box-office, the only exception was Seenu. She wandered into Tollywood with Priya Nestama but returned with Surya in Perazhagan in a song. In 2004, she had the opportunity to star alongside Kamal Haasan in Vasool Raja MBBS but later in that year she ventured in to Bollywood again and acted in C U at 9.

Since then her career has gone up with performances in Chandramukhi alongside Rajinikanth, Jyothika, Prabhu and Nayantara. She also appeared in an item-number for the hit song Vazha Meenukum in Chithiram Pesuthadi. She was applauded for the role she had in Thiruttu Payale where she played a lady in Jeevan's hands. She is acting in Vijaykanth's Sabari, S.J. Suryah's Vyapari and Thirumagan and also with the newcomers in Vedakozhi and Katttuviriyan. Malavika is happy with all the offers she has in hand and she seems to be very busy. Her forthcoming film Vyapari is being directed by Sakthi Chiambaram. This movie stars SJ Suryah, Tamanna, Namitha and Malavika. Music for the movie is scored by Deva. It is set to release in late 2007. Thirumagan, another project is being directed by Ratnakumar. The film stars S.J. Suryah, Meera Jasmine and Malavika is playing a village girl role in the movie. This film is expected to be released for this Diwali.

She was also a part of Mani Ratnam's stage show, Netru, Indru, Naalai.

Genelia D'Souza (Born 5 August 1985 in England) is a popular Indian actress. She has acted over a dozen films in South Indian cinema.

After being born in England, Genelia studied at Apostolic Carmel High School in Bandra, Mumbai. After school, she joined the St. Andrews College, Bandra to pursue a Bachelor's Degree. Mumbai-based Genelia starred in the big budgeted Boys by top director Shankar. She starred opposite fellow débutante Siddharth. The film was a box-office hit and launched her career.

She left Kollywood for a while to concentrate on the Tollywood industry, starring in other successful films including, Satyam, Masti, Samba and Sye. She followed it up with a pairing with popular actress Shriya in Subhash Chandra Bose. She returned to the Tamil industry with the hit, Sachein with Vijay. Jyothika Sadhana Saravanan is an Indian actress who has acted in the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi film industries as the lead heroine. She is regarded as a Superstar in South Indian Cinema because of her continuous string of hits. She is paid the highest salary among Indian actresses, beating Trisha and Kareena Kapoor.


Born in Bombay, she is the daughter of a film producer, Chander Sadanah, and Seema Sadanah. She has two sisters, Nandita (Nagma), who is also an actress, Radhika (Roshni), and a younger brother Rahul. She has a Psychology Degree from Mithibai College of Arts, Bombay. She is one of the very few Indian actress who had a clean image among the general public. She had dated Surya for over 4 years and married him on 11 September 2006. After the wedding, she announced her decision to stop acting. She's expecting her first baby in the month of August2007. She was one of the few actresses who remained at top for a very long time. She was considered even more successful than Simran (her proffessional rival in the industry) because the latter only remain at top for 5 years unlike Jyothika who have been in the lead for past 10 years. Her first Tamil movie as a heroine was Poovellam Kettuppar with Surya. A string of successful movies followed, among them Kushi, Dumm Dumm Dumm and Snegithiye. Ileana D'Cruz (born in August 19, 1987 in Mumbai ) is a South Indian film actress.

She made her Telugu language début through Y.V.S. Chowdhary's Devadasu opposite newcomer, Ram but has also done a Tamil language film and has recently signed a Hindi language film.

D'Cruz, who originally hails from Mumbai, India, had grown up in Mumbai and and currently resides at Goa. Before films, Ileana was modelling for quite some time and doing ads. She has three sisters and two brothers. Her father named her Ileana, a Greek name.


With quite a number of big projects in her kitty, Ileana is already being touted as one of the `next big faces'.

She debuted in the Telugu language film Devadasu in 2006 directed by Y.V.S. Chowdhary who spotted her in a Fair and Lovely ad film directed by Rakesh Roshan [2]. The film went on to being a huge success at the box-office and Ileana attracted a lot of attention for her sensitive portrayal in the film.

Her breakthrough came with her second Telugu film where she essayed the role of Shruti, an innocent girl haunted by a corrupt police officer opposite Mahesh Babu in the immensely successful Pokiri. The film not only gained her good reviews about her good display of innocence and glamour in the film but also gave her terrific reach and penetration among audiences in B and C stations. Her chemistry with Mahesh was the cynosure of all eyes. The film went on to being the biggest hit in Tollywood history .

She then made her Tamil language film debut alongside Ravi Krishna in Kedi. Although the film did not do so well at the box-office, Ileana was sought after by many directors and actors in Tamil for films which she eventually rejected due to her commitments in Telugu .

Namitha Kapoor is a Tamil actress. She is 6 ft tall and weighs 70 kg. She has acted in Tamil, Kannada ,Telugu, Hindi films. Although she started out in Telugu movies, she became famous after the Tamil film Engal Anna opposite Vijayakanth.


Born and raised in Gujarat, Namitha is another actress in the long list of heroines that made it in Telugu and Tamil movies. Her father is a businessman and her mother is a housewife. She became popular with the Tamil version of the film Engal Anna.

A Miss India contest brought Namitha to the Telugu film industry. After entering Tollywood, she immediately grabbed the attention of Telugu film lovers with Gemini and Sontam though the films didn’t fare well in the box office.

Namitha appeared in an English film named Maya directed by Eric Manning. She has also Tamil and Malayalam films to her Credit.

September 11, 1982) is an Indian film actress. She began her career acting in Telugu language films in the Telugu cinema industry, while also attending an acting studio, to follow her dream to act. After her debut in 2001 with Ishtam, she gained Indian cinema's attention in 2002 by playing the role of Bhanu in Santhosham, her first major hit. She reach superstardom by enacting the role of Anjali in the Telugu language film, Nuvve Nuvve, her first blockbuster, and since then she has acted in over twenty Indian films. She has recently switched her main intention of Indian regional films from Telugu to Tamil language ventures. She has played the lead roles in Chiranjeevi's Tagore and Rajinikanth's Sivaji: The Boss her most prestigious projects to date.

She however, like many other actresses has had a rich upbringing into the industry, with her father, Pushpendra Saran being a senior executive in BHEL, while her mother, Neeraja Saran, taught chemistry at Delhi Public School, Haridwar and later Mathura Road, Delhi. She had plenty of glamorous roles lined up for her in Tamil, but instead continued with Tollywood for a year. She has made her comeback in Kollywood through the film Mazhai with Jayam Ravi. The movie did well at the box-office. She beat other top actresses for the much coveted role with Rajinikanth in Shankar's Sivaji: The Boss.
